f(x) = 2e^-2x when x > 0
= 0 when x <=0
Find the probabilities for x between 1 and 3.
Find the probability for x > 0.5
Solution:
1) The area under the curve f(x) from 1 to 3 is the probability value.
2) P(X >= 0.5)
Example 2:
If the probability density function of a random variable f(x) is shown below.
f(x) = K(1 – x^2) when 0 < x < 1
= 0 otherwise.
Find the value of k?
