Example 1:
0.2 * 0.02 * 0.002
Multiply the numbers without considering decimal points.
2 * 2 * 2 = 8
0.2 after the decimal point, one digit
0.02 after decimal point two digits
0.002 after decimal point three digits
1+ 2 + 3 = 6.
We need to place six digits after the decimal point in the result.
The result is 8.
= 0.000008
Example 2:
2.61 * 1.3
261 * 13 = 3393
one digit after the decimal point in 1.3
two digits after the decimal point in 2.61
Place decimal point after three digits in the result
= 3.393
Example 3:
0.4 * 0.04 * 0.004 * 40.
4 * 4 * 4 * 40 = 2560
one digit after the decimal point in 0.4
two digits after the decimal point in 0.04
three digits after the decimal point in 0.004
zero digits after the decimal point in 40.
1 + 2 + 3 + 0 = 6
Place the decimal point after six digits from the left in the result.
= 0.002560
